| Dick Thornton BCC-Z15 Veteran Singles Champion 2018 |
Entrance team mates Dick Thornton and Neil Williams contested the Veteran Singles final at Umina Beach BC on 6th July in very blustery wind conditions. It was a closely fought affair and at 15-14 in a 21 up game it was anyone’s game. Dick Thornton’s consistency over the closing ends closed out the game at 21-16 to record his second Zone Championship title for the year.
In a most unusual twist, both players teamed together earlier in the year to win the Zone Senior Pairs championship and during the pennant season Neil Williams leads for Dick Thornton in the Grade 1 Conference.
