In the recently completed 2017 Yorke Peninsula Alliance Australian Senior Sides Championships. NSW did not finish that well (6th) but Australian bowls legend Rex Johnson's team that included Ettalong's John Roberts (the man we know as JR) at 3rd, was undefeated throughout the series and clearly the best performed team. JR was announced as the NSW player of the series.
