Congratulations to the BCC Senior IZ Side who this afternoon won the 2023 Senior Inter-Zone Side Championship. This is the 4th time that Zone 15 has won this event: 2007, 2008, 2018 and now 2023.
The final was played against Zone 2 (Newcastle). The heroes were the team of Neil Williams (L), Rick Orchard (2nd), Graeme O'Donell (3rd) and Paul Williams (Sk) who won 29 to 16. The other BCC sides of Garry Frost, Garry Murphy, Richard Thornton and Tony Shoebridge did well to kept their loss to 2 points (16-18) and Terry Hughes, Colin Passfield, Jeff Watson, and John Roberts also did well to keep their loss to 6 points (14-20). The result was a magic 5 point win.
The BCC/Zone 15 Side finished the event undefeated. How good was that?
