Munmorah’s Jarred Crane Captures Under 18 Blue-Ribbon Title

In a day of outstanding Single’s play, Munmorah’s 17 year old Jarred Crane defeated the highly fancied Bailey Meti from Ettalong in a semi-final of the bowls Central Coast Under 18 Singles championship. In the other semi, Bateau Bay’s new bowler eleven (11) year old Billy Waite, defeated fellow club player Chelsea Mackay for a berth in the blue-ribbon final.

Billy Waite has only been bowling since January, so it was a magnificent effort to win his way through to the final in a field of more experienced bowlers. Jarred Crane’s experience shone through in the final, but he had a wake-up call in the opening ends of the final when he trailed 6 nil. Jarred’s draw bowling and consistency, especially on longer ends, was a feature of his wins in both the finals.

Jarred will now contest the Bowls NSW Junior State Single’s championship at Warilla BC in July 2018.

We wish him every success!
