2016 Creightons Memorial Triples
The Bay Bowlers Tenth annual Creightons Memorial Triples was held at Wyong Bowling Club on Monday 18th July.
THE BAY BOWLERS LADIES SINGLES FINAL
On Monday 13th June, the Monday of the long weekend; the Ladies Singles Final was played between Lisa Caswell & Sue Robb.
BAY BOWLERS VISITATION East Maitland – 10th July, 2016
It was a very cold morning on Sunday morning 10th July It was an early start, when 50 bowlers and 3 spectators boarded the Road Runners Coach to take us to East Maitland.
THE BAY BOWLERS MEN’S SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP
The Men’s Singles Semi-Final was held on Monday 4th July, 2016 with Doug Roffey playing Tony Henderson and the second game between Graham Cameron & Eric Robb
Sunday 14th February Bay Bowlers paid a visit to St. John’s Park. With 48 Bowlers and four non-bowlers
Before the Bay Bowlers went out to bowl on Monday 18th January, they were visited by John Ebbott of CareFlight who gave a very informative power-point presentation on the role and duties of Careflight (in this their 30th anniversary year) .
The Men’s Singles Semi-Final was held on Monday 19th October, with Doug Roffey playing Graham Andrews and the second game between Adrian Last & Geoff Thurston. Two very good games were played with Doug Roffey winning his game & Adrian Last winning his game with a score of 31 to 18.
On Friday 18th September 52 bowlers set off from Tacoma for our weekend down South. This year we had several newcomers on our trip. It was an overcast day, however no rain. First stop Campbelltown for morning tea and comfort stop. Then onward to Bowral. The tulips were out and many took advantage of going into the gardens whilst most enjoyed the view from outside the fence, and seeing just as much.
Leaving Bowral we headed toward our motel at Oak Flats travelling down through Macquarie Pass which has quite a few curves. All was going well, got through couple tricky ones, then Craig radioed ahead to say we were coming down, however a truck and semi decided they were not going to wait for us to get around a very tight bend and after they manoeuvred their way around us, we were unable to get around and came to a grinding halt. The Bay Bowlers hosted fifty one bowlers from the St. Johns Park Social Bowlers at Wyong Bowling Club on Sunday 27th September in what has become a regular event on the calendar of both social bowling groups.
Due to a District Ladies event being held at Wyong Bowling Club on Monday 29 June, The Bay Bowlers looked for an alternative venue, and Dora Creek Workers Bowling Club were only too happy to have a large group visit on an otherwise quiet day for them.
The committee of The Bay Bowlers nominated member Bob Bourke as their recipient for a 2015 Zone 15 Volunteer Award sponsored by Bowls NSW.............
The Bay Bowlers Social Bowling Group (the largest of it's kind in Australia) has recently made another donation of $1000 to the Shirley Shuttle ..............
Sunday February 15th dawned sunny and warm as forty five bowlers and four non-bowlers gathered at Wyong Bowling Club for the eagerly awaited visitation to St. Johns Park Bowling Club at Cabramatta in Sydney's western suburbs.
Many Bay Bowlers will recall ex-member, Stuart Park, born and raised in New Zealand, who lived and worked in Australia for 23 years before deciding to sell up in late 2013 and return to live in his land of birth so as to spend time with his elderly and ailing parents. Sadly, Stu's mum passed away within months of his return.
With a few spare dollars in the bank the committee of The Bay Bowlers decided to pay for a free day out for members, and Sydney was chosen as the destination.......
With a membership of over 220 registered bowlers, The Bay Bowlers Social Bowling group had no trouble filling the auditorium at the Wyong Leagues Club on Monday December 15th for their annual Xmas Party and Presentation Day......

Sunday the 20th July was a memorable day for fifty nine bowlers from St. Johns Park Bowling Club when they travelled to Wyong Bowling Club for a visitation with The Bay Bowlers....................
The Bay Bowlers Men's Singles Final for 2014 was played on Monday July 7th at Wyong Bowling Club between Les Fitzgerald and Rick Greener under sunny skies but with a tricky and gusty westerly wind across the green.........
