Bailey Meti wins BCC Under 18 Singles

Congratulations to Ettalong's Baily Meti for winning the 2020 Bowls Central Coast Under 18 Singles Championship.  Bailey just played too well.  He defeated Chelsea McKay (Bateau Bay) 25 - 4 in the semi-final then defeated Reegan Peterson (Halekulani) 25 - 9 in the Final.
Reegan had an outstanding championship reaching the final after defeating the defending Champion Brandon Willmette (Gosford City) in the second round in a close game 25 to 22.  Reegan then went on to defeat Brendan Stokes (Ettalong Memorial) 25 to 19 in a game where Reegan jumped out of the box to lead well.  Brendan  fought on coming back at Reegan, but Brendan had a bit of bad luck bumping up Reegan's bowls at the crucial times.
Bailey finished the 2020 BCC U18 Championships winning the Singles and the Pairs and was Runner-up in the Fours.  It would take a miracle for him to not take out the BCC Bowler of the Year for the second year in a row, and the third time that he has won this prestigious award.
Our thanks are extended to John Roberts and the volunteers of Ettalong Memoral who hosted the event so superbly.   Particular thanks to Garry Ellis and Garry Eggleton of the BCC Match Committee for the live streaming of the games.
