Rettiring Under 18 Bowls Coordinator Paul Wesche.
Central Coast and Newcastle have recommenced an Under 18 series that was last played in 2008. NSW State U18 team members Bailey Meti (Central Coast) and Connor Freeman (Newcastle) were not considered for selection. However after the Newcastle side were deserved favourites to win due to their outstanding win as an Under 18 side playing against Under 25 sides from throughout the State in the Raymond Terrace Challenge last month.
However the Central Coast Under 18's prevailed due to a 3 rinks to Nil win in the afternoon after Newcastle won the morning game by 2 rinks to 1. The results were:
The game was the last event for Under 18's Coordinator and Coach Paul Wesche who was delighted with the result as "it was a good win for him to finish on" (his words). BCC Under 18 Coordination and Coaching will be taken over by John Roberts who has been assisting Paul and is well known by the Central Coast under 18 players.
