Congratulations to Halekulani's bowls coordinator James "Cookie" Cook on winning the Champion of Club Champions Singles Final today 24th August 2019 at Ettalong Memorial. Cookie has now won the rare double of the Open Singles and the C of CC Singles.His opponent Avoca Beach's Graham "Archie" Ross was blitzed early down 17 to 5 after 15 ends. However, Archie then showed the form that had got him to the final trading blow for blow with Cookie to eventually go down 31 to 19. It was a great game of bowls to watch with many close heads in quite windy conditions.
BCC thanks Ettalong Memorial for their most competent hosting of the event . Thanks to all the markers and in particular the maker of the final, Michael Braham. We now look forward to the C of CC Doubles commencing next weekend.
Cookie now goes on to contend the State C of CC Champs and if he wins that the Australian C of CC Champs and if he wins that the World's C of CC Champs.
