A strong field of forty eight (48) players took to the greens at Toukley District BC to contest the Central Coast section of the Bowls NSW Rookie Singles. Tricky weather conditions and intermittent rain fully tested the players’ versatility and skills set. The final was a family affair with the Power brothers, Warren and Jamie, from Bateau Bay keen to win their way through to the State Final to be played at Raymond Terrace BC on Sunday 11th November 2018. It was a closely contested final with the scores being leveled at eleven and fourteen all when Warren drew three great shots to snare victory at 17up in this shortened version of the game. The Rookies contest continues to grow in stature each year and despite less than ideal weather conditions this event was played in great spirits and a credit to these new players to our game………………….
